About Us
The way we are funded

Social Platform is funded by a grant from the European Commission to support its running costs. The funding comes from the Community Action Programme to promote active European citizenship. This provides funding for Social Platform in order to promote active citizenship by supporting the involvement of social NGOs in the development of European policy-making.

Our budget is spent on facilitating the involvement of our members, by providing them with information on relevant EU developments, bringing members together for meetings to exchange experiences and share knowledge, arranging meetings between representatives of the EU Institutions and social NGOs, and thus providing a concerted input from social NGOs into the policy-making processes of the EU.
Other funding comes from membership fees, from other contributions from members, and from funding for specific projects.

Social Platform’s annual budget is audited by V. De Wulf & Co, registered auditors.
