The Social Platform Secretariat, overseen by the Director, executes the annual work programme and works to support and
inform the members.
Pierre Baussand
Director
Pierre leads the secretariat team and works closely with the President and Management Committee of Social Platform. He directs the strategic and policy management of the Platform to build the organisation and establish solid policy, administrative, and financial foundations. He is responsible for the visibility of the work of the Platform and manages external relations to ensure representation to external bodies. Pierre is also in charge of financial planning and control of Social Platform’s operations when preparing the annual budget submissions, progress reports and accounts and for developing a financing strategy.
Prior to Social Platform Pierre managed a Human rights team for the OSCE after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and led several human rights projects for the European Disability Forum, and conducted field research in the Middle East on human rights and migration.
Valentina joined Social Platform in 2010. She coordinates the Services of General Interest Working Group and is working on:

Valentina previously worked for thirteen years in EU social policies and project management in NGOs, social economy organizations, local authorities and vocational training institutions.
Alison joined Social Platform in 2011 and is responsible for managing and developing communications to support our advocacy activities. Alison manages the full range of communication activities at the Platform, for both external and internal stakeholders. In particular she is responsible for raising awareness of our activities, managing our publications (including annual reports, the weekly update, and quarterly newsletter), online communications including social media, media relations, and events.
Alison has worked in communications for over 7 years in both the private and non-profit sector and has experience in managing communications for projects throughout Europe, Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
Ariella joined Social Platform in 2008 and is responsible for developing internal and external projects and events, and for taking care of the network of members.
Ariella manages the three informal capacity-building networks of members dealing with Communications, Administration and Membership Development. She is responsible for the management of Networking Visits, annual conferences and internal meetings. She is also responsible for the Membership Accreditation Committee (MAC).
Ariella has been working since 2005 in project management and membership relations for the social and cultural not-for profit sector in several European countries.
Ruw joined Social Platform in 2012. She manages our finances and the daily running of the office, and all issues related to human resources. She is responsible for administration, finance and fundraising and also collaborates closely with the Director.
Ruw has 20 years of experience in administration, financial management of projects and marketing in both the UK and the European non-profit sector.

Since 2005 Annica has worked as a Policy & Advocacy Officer on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and on LGBT rights, within a Swedish, as well as a European, context. She has been involved in civil society organizations since 1999, holding various board positions and voluntary projects.
