FAI - The International Federation of the Christian Associations of Italian Workers

FAI works for the promotion of the aims of the christian associations of workers at the international level.

Structure:
The association is composed of effective members. The Congress of the FAI meets every 4 years and plans a mid-way conference after two years where the national and regional delegations from 19 countries present to the ACLI. The FAI is supported by a General Counsel composed of 22 members and by a Presidency of 4 members. Its social seat, with a permanent secretariat in place was established at 136 Rue Franklin in Brussels. The FAI is backed by the italian ACLI whose seat is in Rome.
Objectives:
The FAI promotes the knowledge of the associative world and of civil society for the development of democracy, the promotion of the safeguard of human rights and citizenship, and for international solidarity and cooperation. The FAI promotes continental coordination. The European coordination in particular is used to promote initiatives on the subjects of political science, employment, democratic participation, and the affirmation of the rights of european citizenship.
Activities:
  • Preparation of a formative project for enlightened leaders in collaboration with the duties of the italian office;
  • Youth projects, entrusted by the European Commission, with implications upon the youth of 5 European countries;
  • Seminars and studies on the fundamental rights Charter and on European governance on the indispensable basis of the construction of associative research;
  • Elaboration of work propositions on education and Lifelong learning with the research of European agencies for the professional formation (AEFP) and its own international research of the ENAIP centres;
  • Predisposition on the rights of workers and on the social rights in the european legislative principles.
