EWL holds workshop on Women's Health
[16/07/2010]

On July 7, the European Women's Lobby (EWL) coordinated a workshop in the framework of a seminar on Women’s Health, organized by the Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Consumers. The aim of the seminar was to feed into European policies on gender equality and health.

The EWL workshop linked “Lifestyles” with socio economic determinants and structural inequalities. The recommendations resulting from the workshop built on those of the EWL Position Paper on Women’s Health, and called for more comprehensive gender segregated data, more coherent policies, access to health for all women, and the integration of violence against women as a horizontal issue throughout health policies.
