On the occasion of the World Health Day, the European Blind Union (EBU) calls on Governments across Europe to address the needs of those who lose sight in older age, which currently affects one in five people over the age of 75 and rising to one in two people over 90, and can mean individuals becoming socially isolated, depressed and dependent on expensive health and social care services to sustain them.
