Policy and action
Employment

Improving the quality of working life is of key importance to millions of Europeans who are currently in low-pay, low-quality, low-security employment. Decent work should be a priority in order to improve peoples lives, as a fundamental right as well as a source of dignity and well-being for themselves and their families, not simply as a means of improving productivity.

The policies developed to increase the quality of employment should respond to the specific challenges faced by the most vulnerable groups facing discriminations within the European labour market such as young and older people, women, migrants and disabled people, who are the first victims of precarious work conditions.
