COFACE: Capacity building seminar on the European Semester

14 April, 09:30-16:00 | Permanent Representation of Hungary to the European Union, Rue de Trèves 92-98, Brussels

COFACE is organising a capacity building seminar on the European Semester. The seminar will give a general introduction on the European Semester cycle, up-to-date with the processes and horizontal issues, and introduce its member state related implications through the presentations of two member state examples (Hungary and Belgium).

All member states have committed to the Europe 2020 strategy. However, each country has different economic circumstances and translates the overall EU objectives into diverse national targets and measures. In addition, after four rounds of the European Semester process of EU economic coordination, this seminar will look into Belgium and Hungary’s EU 2020 targets on early leavers from education and training, people at-risk-of-poverty and social exclusion and employment rate targets.

COFACE will present the sometimes complicated steps of the semester process, present the roles of the various institutions and actors in the procedure, and seek further ways of civil society engagement in the cycle’s procedures.

Register here by 8 April.
