COFACE event: Families beyond borders – what is the impact of migration on families?

5-6 November | Sofia, Bulgaria

Europe is currently facing one of the most serious migration and refugee crisis of recent history and this needs coherent, rapid and systemic responses. The influx and movement of people to and across Europe is a phenomenon that is here to stay. Technology, open labour markets, free movement are all creating an environment, in which we can only expect the number of families that live in different countries for shorter or longer periods of time, to grow.

Hence COFACE is proposing a European conference, jointly organised with the Bulgarian Center of Women’s Studies and Policies, to look at transnational family life and discuss with researches, practitioners and policy makers about causes, consequences and challenges.

There will be three main events:

  • 5 November14.00-18.00: Training “Designing and implementing your advocacy campaign for transnational families”

19.00: Networking Dinner and Film projection “The town of Badante women”
