EU Semester Alliance hearing: Strengthening the legitimacy of the European Semester to get smart, sustainable and inclusive growth – giving a voice to civil society proposals for Europe 2020

Together with Jean Lambert MEP (Greens/EFA, UK) and Marian Harkin MEP (ALDE, Ireland), the EU Semester Alliance is hosting a hearing entitled ‘Strengthening the legitimacy of the European Semester to get smart, sustainable and inclusive growth – giving a voice to civil society proposals for Europe 2020’. The hearing will take place on 3 December from 09:00-12:30 in room PHS 7C50 of the European Parliament, Brussels.

This timely event will debate proposals for increasing the legitimacy of the European Semester and its effectiveness in delivering on Europe 2020 goals, particularly social and environmental targets, through strengthening civil society dialogue.

Invited parties include Commissioner Dombrovskis and Commissioner Thyssen, cross-party MEPs, and a cross-sectoral EU Alliance of civil society and trade unions engaging at national and EU levels.
