Eurodiaconia morning debate: “Juncker’s investment plan – what place is there for social investment?”

14 April, 08:30-11:30 | Eurodiaconia offices, Rue Joseph II 166, Brussels 1000

Eurodiaconia has recently conducted research among its members as diaconal actors in specific member states across the European Union. By conducting this in-depth research, Eurodiaconia was able to create a comprehensive report, explaining some of the main challenges that face the Social Investment Package and its implementation at the Member State level.

In order to launch this report and talk about the need for further implementation of social investment policies at both the national and EU levels, particularly within President Juncker’s new investment package, Eurodiaconia along with Jutta Steinruck MEP has formulated a debate on this topic, bringing MEPs, Eurodiaconia members, representatives of civil society, including Bruegel and Eurochild, and European Commission officials together to stress the need for further incorporation of social investment priorities into both member state and European level policies.
