Call for activists: Anti-Racist organising – European Parliament Elections 2019

Each One Teach One (EOTO), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI), and the European Network for People of African Descent (ENPAD) will organise a 3-day programme for anti-racist activists working to combat racist narratives in the European Parliament elections.

Civil society workshops, 18 – 21 March 2019, Brussels

Across Europe, the rise of political parties promoting racism, fascism and discrimination and fuelling divisive public sentiments is posing a huge threat to democracy, security, and in particular the rights of people of colour, minorities and migrants. The upcoming European Parliament elections in May 2019 risk a shift toward racist and discriminatory political narratives and policies and increased political polarisation.

Ahead of the European Parliament elections, Each One Teach One (EOTO), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI), and the European Network for People of African Descent (ENPAD) will organise a 3-day programme for anti-racist activists working to combat racist narratives in the European Parliament elections.

Workshop programme:

Anti-racist activists working in their respective countries will join a programme of events designed to promote exchanges of knowledge and good practice on:

-  Anti-racist narratives and communications strategies
-  Community mobilisation
-  Campaigning methods
-  EU anti-racism and anti-discrimination policy

Delegates will have the opportunity to network with other anti-racist activists, as well as prominent politicians leading the fight against racism in Europe. The workshops will be conducted in English.
