Caritas Europa: Day for an Open Society

15 June, 15:00-18:00 | Mont des Arts, Brussels B-1000, Belgium

In order to launch the #whatishome campaign and to mark the Day for an Open Society, Caritas Europa is inviting everyone to a fun day to celebrate our diversity in languages and cultures.

#whatishome is a Europe-wide social media summer campaign. Its aim is to create a broader understanding on how to make people feel welcome after they left their previous home – may it be due to forced displacement or migration by choice. This year’s focus lies on the crucial moment in learning a local language and using words that define local culture and thus show the difference between being a traveller or a resident.

#whatishome is part of MIND, a three year project financed by the European Commission on migration and sustainable development, with Caritas Austria in the lead, along with 11 other Caritas organisations in EU-countries.
