Social Learning Platform on sustainable and eco-friendly organisation

14 September 2021, 14:00 – 15:00, online

Registration deadline: 13 September , 12:00. Event link will be sent to all registered participants.

On 14 September between 14:00 – 15:00 join Social Platform for a Learning Platform to discuss, share expertise and learn on how to become more sustainable and eco-friendly organisations and support your members to do the same.

The session will be led by the European Association of Service providers for People with Disabilities (EASPD) with the contribution of the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).

The conversation will be started by Rachel Vaughan, Operation Manager at EASPD, and Emma Ernsth, Director of Membership and Development at EEB will introduce the steps that their organisations have put in place to become more sustainable and eco-friendly, setting policies or a green manifesto. They will explain how they are implementing these policies, and how they are working with their members to inspire them in adopting similar policies. The Learning Platform meeting aims at sharing practices and find additional inspiration and ideas and exchange on how to start this transition in the way we design and live our office and involve our members in this transition.

EASPD is looking to become a more sustainable and eco-friendly organisation and to support their members to do the same.

Just a number of reasons why EASPD is doing it:

  • Environment and climatic impacts
  • Beneficial economic effects in the long-term.
  • Promoting better health and wellbeing
  • By working alongside the environmental sector, the social sector has the opportunity to unlock new opportunities for the social inclusion of persons with disabilities/other vulnerable groups.
  • It contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and creating more sustainable local communities.

This Social Learning Platform is for anyone who is working on these issues internally and with their members and everyone who would like to find out more on how to make our organisations more eco-friendly and more sustainable.

At the end of 2018, Social Platform launched the Social Learning Platform, which brings together our members for regular peer-to-peer learning sessions.
