Social Platform signs the Strasbourg Declaration on social enterprises

Last week our Steering Group voted to sign the so-called Strasbourg Declaration, the final declaration of the participants in the conference: "Social entrepreneurs: have your say!" that took place in Strasbourg last January.

This Declaration recognises the social and economic value of social enterprises as they help build a pluralistic and résilient social market economy. It calls on EU institutions to develop a second phase of the Social Business Initiative that broadens its scope, deepens its partnership with member states, local and regional authorities and civil society organisations.

For Social Platform it is important that social enterprises and social economy are given high attention in the agenda of the next Commission and Parliament.
