Multiannual Financial Framework – European Union Budget

While the European Union is at a critical juncture to define political priorities which will guide the European project after 2020, the next EU long term budget (MFF 2021-2027) is the only political precedent set to be finalised when the new European Commission takes office at the end of 2019. Against the background of the ongoing interinstitutional negotiations on the MFF, we as Social Platform advocate for a future Budget that prioritises sustainable investments in people and places, while promoting open, democratic and inclusive societies. For us and our members, investing in “Social Europe” is not just a ‘nice to have”, but an absolute imperative to bring Europe closer to its people – present and future generations.
