Social Platform signs joint letter to defend children’s rights in the EU
One in four children in the EU is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. With over 20 million children growing up without equal opportunities, we are not only facing a social emergency, but also a serious threat to Europe’s long-term cohesion, prosperity, and democracy.
As the EU enters a new political cycle and prepares the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), Social Platform has joined leading child rights and social organisations in signing a joint letter calling on EU leaders to put children and social investment at the heart of Europe’s priorities.
Our key demands:
- Reinforce the European Child Guarantee
- Make child poverty a central focus of a stronger EU Social Agenda
- Secure robust and long-term funding in the next MFF
Failing to act now would lead to immeasurable social, economic, and moral costs. It’s time to invest in children and build a more inclusive future for Europe.
