Eurofound publishes survey on the coronavirus pandemic

The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) published an online survey available in all EU languages to analyse the effects the COVID-19 pandemic is having on people’s living and working conditions.

Data collection is now more crucial than ever to capture the most immediate challenges and changes to people’s quality of life and working conditions and to allow policymakers to put in place needs-based short and long-term laws and policies. The survey can be accessed here.

Furthermore, Eurofound is planning to publish a report titled ‘The COVID-19 virus: Some implications for employment and working life’ in October 2020. The report will:

  • Evaluate employment effects and look at measures implemented to limit negative effects following the Coronavirus outbreak in Europe
  • Look at how policies are addressing issues related to physical absences from the workplace, from both the perspectives of business continuity as well as the health and wages of employees
  • Examine how social insurance systems, such as sickness benefits, and other policies cope with the various types of workplace absences
