Volonteurope’s 24th annual conference: Active citizens for sustainable development and global justice

28-30 October | Seville, Spain

Marking the deadline for the Millennium Development Goals and the start of the post-2015 development agenda, 2015 has been named the European Year for Development (EYD2015).Volonteurope’s  conference, organised in partnership with its Spanish member Alianza por la Solidaridad, will be delivered in the context of EYD2015 and focus on the role of civil society in promoting sustainable development and global justice.

As well as hearing from experts in the field during keynote speeches and panel debates, participants will have the opportunity to visit local NGOs and take part in roundtable discussions on:

  • Responsible Business
  • Mobilising Young People
  • Participatory Democracy and Social Justice at the Local Level
  • European Development Cooperation

During the conference, Volonteurope will be holding the 9th Active Citizens of Europe (ACE) Awards (the deadline for nominations is 25 September), which will celebrate individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions to sustainable development and global justice.

It will also be launching a report on Mobilising Citizens for Global Justice, with contributions from experts in the field, including the Red Cross EU Office, Peace Brigades International and Social Platform.

Participation fees are as follows:

  • Volonteurope members/associates: €105
  • Non-members: €210
  • Participants from Spain: no fee
  • Speakers/Facilitators/EU Youth Ambassadors: no fee
