We believe that everyone has the right to live a life in dignity, and actively promoting social inclusion is one way of achieving this.

Despite the EU’s adoption in 2010 of the Europe 2020 strategy that included ambitious targets for dramatically reducing poverty and social exclusion by 2020, the lack of a cohesive EU approach means that these targets will be missed by huge margins. Indeed, the number of people experiencing severe material deprivation is on the rise.

We will continue to campaign for the social impact of the EU’s policies to be taken into account. An improved economy should not carry a high social price.
