Event – Ukraine Virtual Study Visit: Civil Society Stands with Ukraine

On Tuesday 25 April between 14:00 and 16:30, Social Platform will organize a virtual study visit where participants can learn more about the vital work civil society and social economy enterprises are doing to support Ukrainians. National members of Caritas Europa, the European Network of Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE), and SOS Children’s Villages International will present how they have been responding since the outbreak of war and supporting Ukrainians both in Ukraine and in Moldova.

Session 1 – Children in Ukraine

After giving an overview of the response of SOS Children’s Villages to protect Ukrainian children in countries of reception, the presentation will zoom in on activities undertaken by SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine since the Russian invasion. The visit will focus on showcasing good practices to care for children without parental care and to strengthen families. Participants will have the opportunity to hear the first-hand experience from staff from SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.

Session 2 – Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs)

ENSIE, will present with its Ukrainian member Future Development Agency (FDA) the
work they are doing in Ukraine. Future Development Agency (FDA) was created
in 2015 and develops social innovations, new methods and tools in the social sector.
Their mission is to create an ecosystem for rapid growth of social entrepreneurship
and social innovations in Ukraine. FDA and ENSIE will host a virtual tour with 2
WISEs to show how they operate during the war period. The study visit will present
the CEO of the inclusive bakery ‘Good bread from Good people’ (Kyiv city) and the
CEO of ‘Museum in the darkness’ (Kyiv, Lviv).

Session 3 – Support for Ukrainian refugees in Moldova

Caritas Moldova is a member of Caritas Europa and has been working in Moldova
for almost three decades. Caritas Moldova has implemented humanitarian aid and
social assistance programmes and since the outbreak of the war has been
providing a range of services to Ukrainian refugees. Director Edward Lucaci will
present an overview of their main activities together with a video showcasing this
support.
