Do you know what “social bonds” and “house bonds” are?
On December18, 2013, we held our first seminar on new tools to finance social services.
Two experiences were presented – Guido Cisternino (UBI Banca) from Italy presented the two types of "social bonds" that his bank is offering to finance initiatives with a social aim carried out by non profit organisations. You can read his presentation.
Gene Clayton (Irish Council for social housing – member of Cecodhas) presented the "transnational European house bonds" initiative that Cecodhas Housing Europe is launching to finance social housing across Europe. You can view his presentation.
We will continue working on alternative ways of financing social services in the course of 2014.
