About Social Platform
Social Platform is the largest network of European rights- and value-based civil society organisations working in the social sector. Our mission is to advocate for policies that bring social progress to all in the European Union. We apply a human-rights approach to all of our work to fight for a socially just and cohesive Europe that promotes equality, diversity, solidarity, democracy and human dignity.
Definitions
Social Platform is committed to ensure the safety of your personal data and will handle all personal information with care. This Privacy Notice applies to Social Platform’s website (www.socialplatform.org). The website of Social Platform, including all information and materials contained on it, is managed by Social Platform.

By using this website, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Notice, which strives to be in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). We are committed to ensure GDPR compliance and recognize the need for continuous effort, which is why the terms of this privacy notice may be updated over time.
What type of information do we collect and store?
When you register for certain services, we will ask you to provide personal information. When you sign up for our monthly newsletter, or when you send us your resume, you agree that Social Platform collects and registers the personal information that you transfer. This personal information usually only consist of your name, contact details and organisation.
Who is responsible for the processing of the data and who has access?
Social Platform employees are responsible for processing your personal data and can access it for the purpose of their job. All employees have been informed on how to treat your personal data with utmost care.
How to control your data?
You can access, modify or delete your personal data by sending an email request to
privacy@socialplatform.org.
Do we share my data with third parties?
Your personal data is processed by Social Platform only and will not be shared with or sold to third parties, unless we are required to do so by law (e.g. auditing by our funders).
Security of personal data
At Social Platform several security controls are in place to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
Your data is save online and offline. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example sending monthly updates on EU policies) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store your personal information are kept in a secure environment. We commit to immediately inform the Belgium Data Protection Authority in case there has been a data breach.

Social Platform’s website, like most other websites, uses small text files called cookies to make the visit of website users as pleasant as possible.

Social Platform uses cookies to compile statistical data on the use and functioning of our website and to facilitate the user’s ability to navigate through our website.
